When going white water rafting, it will be good to wear surfer suits (seriously esp if you dont want to get dark),- you'll be under the sun for hours. This is definitely one of the best experiences in my life, yet. Avail a package that will include snacks and lunch.
Good thing is, CDO is also near Illigan City and Bukidnon which are great places to visit too!
Bukidnon is around 2 hour drive from CDO which homes the famous DOLE pineapple plantation, the best roast beef, and the longest zipline in the Philippines.
The Del Monte Clubhouse offers steak (from cows who eat pineapples) and roast beef that is really tasty. My friends and I wants to go back just to be able to eat the roast beef. That awesomeness!
Dahilayan Adventure Park offers alot of activities from zipline to ATV to zorbs. Or for the faint hearted, the place is just plain perfect for relaxation. The zipline is the longest but not the fastest that I have tried. It was also my first time to try the Zorb, I was quite reluctant at first since I thought that it is nothing but a source of nausea. Yes it was but really fun. I couldn't stop shouting. Worth it and its really fun.
Lastly, we visited Illigan City which was around 2 hour drive from CDO too. If in Bukidnon, you'll see much of vast lands and mountains. In here, you'll see more of water- the renowned Maria Cristina Falls and Tinago Falls.
This is the highest falls in the Philippines.
Tinago Falls offers a skyscraping 180 degrees falls. The water was Ice cold water. Warning: It can cause cramps!!
As we have all remember, the typhoon Ondoy has destroyed many of these places. I was lucky to be able to go before it happened. But still, it saddens me because we are not taking care of our own home. Let us do something to protect the homes that provides for us.
I highly recommended this for barkadas and families who are adrenalin seeking!
